Little Miss Daredevil

Last year I created a mini series for my blog called Little Miss, I wrote Little Miss Tiny and Little Miss Shy and then I totally neglected the mini series - until now! I want to bring the series back since it's the perfect way for me to share a bunch of books I either want to read or already have read!
To bring the series back I decided to make a Little Miss Daredevil post - which is basically books I've read, or want to read, which is out of my comfort zone. I've been a daredevil to read them!

Let me know if you want to take part in the Little Miss series, I might make a tag out of it!

The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin
The Happiness Project is one of my favorite books ever! When I read it I'd never read a memoir, I'd actually never actually read a nonfiction book.
I managed to read this in a matter of days, I loved every piece of it and now I have a physical copy on my shelf. I often browse through it and read certain parts. It's a book I recommend to everyone!

The Final Empire by Brandon Sanderson
Even though the Harry Potter series is one of my favorite series I'd never actually read a high fantasy series prior to reading The Final Empire - also, I don't read that many big books and this is a beast at 600 odd pages!
I loved The Final Empire and even though I haven't picked up the sequel yet I just know I'm going to love it!

The Edge of Never by J.A. Redmerski
The Edge of Never was my very first new adult novel, it was a great introduction since I absolutely loved it! I'm still unsure about the whole sex part, but it was so great and I didn't feel like a little child reading it.
I often find myself wondering if I'm just too old to read YA and really enjoy it anymore..

Across the Universe by Beth Revis
Across the Universe was introduction into science fiction! It's heavy in that department since it takes place on a spaceship and I really enjoyed it! I loved the science aspect to it and I've been looking for similar books ever since!

Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James
I debated whether or not to read this and I eventually decided that I wanted to know what everyone was talking about so I read it, and it was okay. Then I read the sequel, and it was even better. I've yet to read the final one, but I'm not in the mood for it.
Fifty Shades of Grey was my first erotica.

The White Queen by Philippa Gregory
So, The White Queen was my first historical fiction novel and I really didn't like it! I had to push myself to read the book and I've been hesitant to pick up another historical fiction ever since. Every historical fiction novel I've read have been bad or mediocre..

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
I had to read The Hunger Games for a bookclub, I didn't even want to read it but I ended up loving it. The Hunger Games was my first dystopian and probably first hyped book and it was great!

Sister's Red by Jackson Pearce
Sister's Red was my very first fairytale retelling and it's been my favorite genre ever since! Every time I am looking for a book to read I practically look for a new fairytale retelling. It's probably one of my best book choices ever!

Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
Even though Pride and Prejudice is one of my absolute favorite books I actually didn't enjoy it that much the first time around. I read it in Danish - which is probably my biggest mistake ever and I'd never read a classic before. A couple of years later I gave it another shot, in English this time, and I absolutely loved it and I've read it multiple times since!
So so good!

A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin
A Song of Ice and Fire series is so hyped up and there's spoiler's everywhere! And I actually tried reading it back in 2013 where I gave up 100 pages in... I bought a the larger edition a year later and now, having read A Game of Thrones I regret not reading it sooner but in a way I'm also quite happy that I've waited so long since I have a feeling I wouldn't have enjoyed as much a couple of years back!

Which books have you been a daredevil to read?

  1. I pledged to read at least 4 classics this year (including books that are recognised as 'Modern Classics') and I'm 50% there so far. I also need to start reading bigger books and more dystopian and fantasy!

Good luck with branching out! I know I had a hard time in the beginning! And I really hope you enjoy what you read!
