Embarrassing unread books

Okay, I’ve taken a bunch of breaks from the book community and I’ve ’missed’ a ton of books. I’ve also come to realise that there’s a ton of books I haven’t read and some of those books are quite embarrassing to not have read. I don't mean it's embarrassing for you if you haven't read them, but many of these are embarrassing for me personally - and you'll soon find out why. So here you go: my embarrassing unread books.

I've tried listening to the audiobook, I've thought about buying it and I've borrowed it from the library multiple times but I never get into it and it embarrass me becasuse fairytale retellings is my favorite genre and Cinder is one of the most popular books in that genre, along with the other books from the series, and I haven't read it!

Paper Towns by John Green
I've read every book John Green has written, except Paper Towns and it's the one everyone's talking about right now because of the movie. This is definitely not one of my most embarrassing unread books but it's on the list because I feel like I should give him one last chance (I've only enjoyed TFIOS and Let it Snow) and since it's so popular at the moment I should give it a go. Also, it's just sitting on my shelf..

This is quite weird, but I have no recollection of ever reading The Deathly Hallows I know what happens in the book and I haven't seen the movies so the only explanation is that I've read it - but I can't remember reading it.. So I have to count it as unread.

I really want to give this series a go, I love reading paranormal books in the Fall so I'll probably try it in that season but I've no idea when. I just feel like it's so hyped up and everyone I know has practically read and loved the series!

Hopeless (Hopeless #1) by Colleen Hoover
I've only read Slammed and the Never Never series which she's cowritten with Tarryn Fisher, but this one is probably one of her most popular ones and I really feel like I should give it a go - especially when I've had a copy on my iPad for almost a year.

I've seen the movies and I've actually read 1-3 but before this year I had never even tried to read Narnia and I feel like it's such an important book that everyone should read it. I've enjoyed what I've read so far but it's not as good as I'd hoped.

I read The Final Empire (Mistborn #1) in January 2014 and I tried reading The Well of Ascension shortly after and I couldn't get into it! The Final Empire was one of my favorite books of 2014 and even though I have the entire series laying on my shelf I haven't touched them since 2014. It embarrasses me.

Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
This is quite a large book, I know, but the reason this is an embarrassing unread book is the fact that the new movie adaptation is one of my favorite movies ever and the Manga Classic version of this book is one of my favorite graphic novels ever so I should really read the original piece - but it's so massive and it scares me!

Pride and Prejudice is definitely one of my favorite books ever - if not the favorite and I recently read Emma. I really feel like she's one of my favorite authors but I've not even read all her books! I made the mistake with John Green of considering him a favorite author after I'd read TFIOS only to get disappointed by (nearly) all his other books and I really hope Austen's books aren't going to disappoint me.
Basically these is embarrassing unread books because I see her as one of my favorite authors and I've only read 2 of her books...

So which of these do I need to read ASAP?

  1. Join the late train to the Lunar Chronicles and the Chronicles of Narnia with me! Paper Towns is absolutely brilliant as is the Deathly Hallows!

    1. I will! I hope to finish all my review books this month and then I can finally read whatever I want without feeling guilty!
I hope I enjoy both Paper Towns and Deathly Hallows, even though I don't think I'll enjoy Paper Towns
