My bookish birthday, a haul

So, I turned 19 on March 2nd and since I was on sick leave that whole week - I could read! You can read a more in depth post about my week in general here, but I'm going to do a short summary of how bookish my birthday was!

While my plan was to read for the entire day, I didn't. I had a great day though! Me and my dad went shopping for cake and good stuff so I had snacks for reading and for bookclub! Yes, I attended book club on my birthday and it was awesome! I'd made turkish delight in honor of Narnia since we'd just read The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and we drank hot chocolate and tea and it was glorious!

I also got some trays so I can have snacks and drinks in bed while reading and I feel so bookish now! I've seen so many with these kind of trays on bookstagram and I didn't understand it until I got some myself! It's definitely a musthave if you read in bed!

Well my little reading session, which you can see in the picture, was so perfect! I listened to some classical music while eating snacks and I could just delve into the world! I managed to finish the first two books in The Shamer Chronicles and it was so peaceful!

I of course received some gifts, which I'm going to share with you now:

For the books I got these 5! We went to Copenhagen on the day after my birthday and I got the four books on the bottom;
  • All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr
  • The Versions of Us by Laura Bartlett
  • A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki
  • A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara
I also got Kindred Spirits by Rainbow Rowell! It was only available in UK for World Book Day - but luckily Book Depository had it!

Both my boyfriend and my dad got me a cover from Klevercase! These were the only two I definitely wanted and I love my personalized penguin cover! The inside reads;
One glance at a book and you hear the voice of another person, perhaps someone dead for 1.000 years. To read is to voyage through time.
- W. Somerset Maugham

Lastly my brother got me my very first penguin mug and I LOVE it!

What's the best birthday gift you've received?
