ARC August wrap up!

Just like last year I participated in ARC August, this year I read a total of 15 books. All books are either ARCs or books I've received for review.

Books read
  1. Monsters by Emerald Fennell ★★★☆☆ (review coming September 3.)
  2. The Violet Hour (The Violet Hour #1) by Andrea L. Wells ★★★★★ (review)
  3. All the Things We Never Knew by Sheila Hamilton ★★★☆☆ (review coming October 12.)
  4. Because You'll Never Meet Me by Leah Thoas ★★★☆☆ (review)
  5. The Fixer (Mort Grant #1) by T.E. Woods ★★★★☆
  6. Rite of Rejection (Acceptance #1) by Sarah Negovetich ★★★☆☆
  7. Black Cairn Point by Claire McFall ★★★★☆ (review)
  8. The Golden Braid (Fairy Tales #6) by Melanie Dickerson ★★★★☆ (review coming November 16.)
  9. The Murder of Adam and Eve by William Dietrich ★★★☆☆
  10. More Than This (More Than #1) by Jay McLean ★★★★★ (review)
  11. The Monkey's Secret by Gennifer Choldenko ★★★☆☆ (review coming September 7.)
  12. Trouble is a Friend of Mine by Stephanie Tromly ★★★★☆ (review coming September 14.)
  13. Gut Feeling by Victoria Browne ★★★★☆ (review coming November 5.)
  14. Third Time Lucky - The Honey Trap (Third Time Lucky #1) by Victoria Browne ★★★★☆ (review coming November 8.)
  15. All of the Above by James Dawson ★★★★★ (review coming September 21.)
  16. Things We Know by Heart ★★★★☆
To be honest I didn't reach my goal of reading all the books I'd received for review BUT I received a few books throughout the month so the 5 I have left would probably have been read if I hadn't received the other books. I'll definitely get to the other 5 but my plan for September is to read whatever I want since I start school and I've just had a whole month of reviewing! So I could use a break.

Things that happened and my obsessions this month
  • I was nominated for the Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award
  • I updated my review archive (or rather deleted the old one by accident and had to start from scratch...). I also updated all my reviews so they fit the new theme AND I made sure all of my reviews are on goodreads - I'll check amazon next month.
  • I created a blog schedule and made my very own blog planner! I'm in love with it!

 New books on my shelf
So, I still didn't buy a single book this entire month but I received quite a few:

I've already read all the ones on the left, and you can expect reviews of all them in the next month or so. I received the four on top from Hot Key Books and the two on the bottom from the author herself.
The one on the right called 'Hvad hjertet ved' is the Danish version of Things We Know by Heart by Jessi Kirby which I've received from a Danish publisher.

Looking forward to
  • Starting school tomorrow, I'll have to spend 2 hours on the train each way but it's worth it - I hope!
  • Reading Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas! It's out tomorrow!
  • I'm also looking forward to reading Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon!
  • Our internet will probably be up and running so I'll definitely catch up with some series!
  • I'm actually adding a new feature next month: since I've brought my 'review' pile down to next to nothing opposed to how it looked before the Summer started I figured I'd do something new! Every month I'll do a poll, starting with September, where you choose 1 of 4 or 5 books I have to read and review for you guys.
September is going to be great!

Sunday Post : ARC August, freetime and relaxing!

I really like making these Sunday Posts! In fact I just love making wrap ups! I love having these posts  where I can look back at what I made in that year/month/week - it's so nice and sometimes you stumble across something you'd forgotten about!
Since I still have a week before I go back to school I've just been relaxing, watching TV and written a bunch of posts! But let's go a bit more into detail:

ARC August update
I haven't read that much this week, so this will be quite a short update:
Trouble is a Friend of Mine by Stephanie Choldenko ⎜Gut Feeling by Victoria Browne ⎜Third Time Lucky - The Honey Trap (Third Time Lucky #1) by Victoria Browne

All of the Above by James Dawson

I also began reading All of the Above by James Dawson and it's really good! On Friday I shared the beginnings of both Gut Feeling and Third Time Lucky - The Honey Trap, you can find the post here.

UPDATE: I finished All of the Above late last night and I loved it!

Posts you've might have missed and other things that've happened this week

What to look forward to in the coming week
  • Tomorrow I have another review for you! I read More Than This last week and absolutely loved it so I wanted to share my thoughts with you as soon as possible and tomorrow it is!
  • The Top Ten Tuesday this week is going to be the top ten books which would be on our syllabus if we taught x 101 - and I've chosen fairy tale retellings! So there's going to be 10 of my favorite fairytale retellings this week
  • I have a tag coming on Wednesday. Theepika @ It's Theepika tagged me to do the 'I Mustache You Some Questions' tag
  • On Thursday I'll talk a bit about reading nonfiction - how to do it right!
  • Lastly I'll have another review, this time of one of my most anticipated reads of 2015: Because You'll Never Meet Me by Leah Thomas.
  • Next week is my last week off before I start University and even though I like having a bunch of freetime I also can't wait to start school again!

Sunday Post : ARC August and giveaways!

I am really enjoying making these Sunday Posts, unfortunately I forget about them until it's actually Sunday so I have to make my post in a hurry! As usual my week haven't been that eventful but of course stuff happened!

First we'll make a ARC August update. I feel like I'm doing pretty well but I've marked 4 books as DNF so far for different reasons.

ARC August update
The Monkey's Secret by Gennifer Choldenko ⎜Black Cairn Point by Claire McFall ⎜The Murder of Adam and Eve by William Dietrich

I shared the beginning of both The Monkey's Secret and More Than This on Friday, if you're interested you can check them out here
I also began Trouble is a Friend of Mine by Stephanie Tromly, I'm currently 100 pages in and I'm loving it so far!

Since I read 5 books this week it takes my total of books read this month up to 11 so far! I only have 4 books left on netgalley and 4 physical books left including Trouble is a Friend of Mine. I can definitely clear out all of my review books this month!

Posts you've might have missed and other things that've happened this week

What to look forward to in the coming week
  • Tomorrow I'll post a review and a giveaway of The Violet Hour (The Violet Hour #1) by Andrea L. Wells. I loved this book and I'm so glad that one of my lucky readers are going to read it too!
  • On Tuesday I'll share my top ten auto-buy authors!
  • Andrew Joyce was so kind to ask me if he could do a guest post on my blog and I of course said yes! So on Wednesday there'll be a post about Molly Lee, his book, and a giveaway where two of you can win a copy!
  • On Thursday I have another review coming your way; Black Cairn Point by Claire McFall!
  • As usual there'll be a book beginnings post with a beginning of one of the books I've read that week!
  • Lastly there'll be a post listing all the series I won't finish on Saturday!

Since I didn't receive any books this week I'll just end the post here! Remember to link your sunday posts in the comments!

9 August 2015

Sunday Post : ARC August, booktubeathon and a lot more!

It haven't been an eventful week at all, I've participated in booktubeathon the last week or so and I haven't really done anything else than read and write reviews.

ARC August update
Since I'm participating in ARC August I figured I'd do a weekly wrap up in my Sunday Post instead of a separate post! In the first week I did quite alright but I could've read a ton more, but I wasn't really in the mood to read that much.

Monsters by Emerald Fennell The Violet Hour (The Violet Hour #1) by Andrea L. Wells All the Things We Never Knew by Sheila Hamilton

The Fixer (Mort Grant #1) by T.E. Woods Because You'll Never Meet Me by Leah Thomas Rite of Rejection (Acceptance #1) by Sarah Negovetich

I finished 6 books and began 2 others; The Golden Braid and Black Cairn Point. I have written reviews for each of the books and I've even shared the first chapter of The Violet Hour

Posts you've might have missed and other things that've happened this week

What to look forward to in the coming week
  • I'm going to read some more! I finally received 5 of review books in the mail and I'm really looking forward to reading those!
  • The 5books7days which Lotte is hosting on instagram. I still have to figure out whether or not I want to participate but I have a feeling I'm going to.

New books on my shelf
Trouble is a Friend of Mine by Stephanie Tromly Black Cairn Point by Claire McFall The Monkey's Secret by Gennifer Choldenko

I also received Victoria Browne's two books for review; Gut Feeling and Third Time Lucky - The Honey Trap.

Did you have an exciting week?

    29 July 2015

    #ARCAugust, TBR and sign-up

#ARCAugust is hosted by Octavia and Shelly at Read.Sleep.Repeat. It's a month, obviously August, where we read all the ARC's we've received, whether it's physical or digital. I'm going to do as I did last year where I basically read any book I'd received for review. I now the rules say it must be an ARC, but since I'm not going to participate in the giveaways or such I hope it doesn't matter.
I really just need some motivation to get through all my books for review and ARC August really helped last year!

Since I'm going to start posting 'Sunday Post''s every Sunday I'm going to do a weekly wrap up within that post instead of doing 2 separate weekly wrap ups.

I've created a TBR down below and it's divided into two sections: released and not released. The books which are releasing in August is obviously high on the TBR but other than that I'm probably just going to read whatever I want from the books below.

    Yet to be released
Black Cairn Point by Claire McFall (August 6.)
The Monkey's Secret by Gennifer Chlodenko (August 6.)
Trouble is a Friend of Mine by Stephanie Tromly (August 6.)
Monsters by Emerald Fennell (September 3.)
All the Things We Never Knew by Sheila Hamilton (October 13.)

    Already released
    ARCs
Rite of Rejection by Sarah Negovetich (December 4, 2014)
The Gospel According to Drew Barrymore by Pippa Wright (March 26.)
Moonlands by Steven Savile (April 17.)
Uprooted by Naomi Novik (May 19.)
Because You'll Never Meet Me by Leah Thomas (June 2.)

    For review
Slip by Leslie J. Portu (July 12, 2013)
Violet Hour (The Violet Hour #1) by Andrea L. Wells (May 1.)
Gut Feeling by Victoria Browne (September 12, 2012)
Third Time Lucky - The Honey Trap by Victoria Browne (June 1.)

So, there's a total of 14 books on my TBR and even though it is quite big I read 20 books this month so it can be done!
